Tellurian

Sound Scoring Competition

The film, called Tellurian, is about a dystopian world devastated by an alien invasion that took hold of the earth fifteen years before the film's setting, and the brave survivors band together and organize a revolt to save the planet.
I was dedicated to producing the score all week, trying to create several "explosion" points but only one significant one, located at the end of the trailer.

Since I was working with a trailer, I thought I would create a progressive score from beginning to end, with different elements alternating as the tension builds throughout the piece.

You can outline three different "build ups" consisting of different elements as protagonists.
In the first section we find a pad created with strings and choir, which starts slightly closed by a filter and opens with the first alternation of scenes, below we can already hear the electronic piano written with midi information in common with the arpeggio of strings in the second section.

As already mentioned at the end of the first section, the second strings enter and open in an arpeggio that aims to increase the tension created by the electronic piano.

At the end of the second section there is a "fake pause" where the intensity stops for a moment in order to shift the attention to the percussive part, which also plays a leading role for a very short time, increasing the tension of the words spoken in the trailer.

The final part is a violin solo, a melody written by me that tries to express the romantic feeling of a sci-fi war.
